Aaztec Cubicles Environmental Policy
Aaztec Associates Limited manufacture and install toilet, shower and washroom cubicles, vanity units, lockers and benches.
We undertake to examine every aspect of our activities to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with sound environmental practices.
We will ensure that every aspect of our activities is conducted in accordance with sound environmental practices.
We will endeavour to ensure that all materials used in the manufacture of our products are as environmentally sympathetic as possible bearing in mind that we produce all of our products to order.
Where possible we will advise our customers of environmentally friendly alternatives for their requirements – be it recycled or recyclable.
We have registered the above trade mark in order to market a range of cubicles, vanity units, lockers and benches made from recycled materials. The fittings are made from satin anodised aluminium which is recyclable.
We will continually assess the environmental impact of our operations and, through minimising the use of materials and resources, we will reduce our wastage to the lowest practical level.
We will conserve resources through efficient use and careful planning.
We have installed 'state of the art' software in order to utilise the raw materials we use in the most economical way, thereby reducing waste.
We ensure that our sawing equipment is properly maintained so that it does not cause noise pollution.
All dust waste is collected through a system which minimises the effect on the atmosphere within our factory. This ensures a clean, safe environment for our employees to work in.
All other waste is collected by a licensed waste handling company under the Duty of Care using a Waste Transfer Note.
Our boilers are serviced regularly to ensure minimal air emission pollution.
We have investigated the possibility of using our waste material to provide hot water and heating. However, the risks involved in burning the material, together with our local authority’s stance on this option has rendered it impracticable.
We re-use as much packaging as possible – keeping old bubble wrap, padded envelopes, cardboard boxes and wooden pallets to re-use. We do not use more packaging than is necessary – just enough to ensure that the goods are not damaged in transit and it is all recyclable.
We have written to all of our relevant suppliers to ask them for technical information on their products which demonstrate that they are ‘eco-friendly’.
We will work with our suppliers to ensure they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of their products and transportation.
Through coordinating route planning and delivery schedules we seek to realise the dual benefits of reduced fuel consumption and lower exhaust emissions.
Staff and visitor refreshments are served in china mugs and cups and no individual portion packages are used.
We use stationery which is either recycled or from a sustainable source and we do not print out documents unnecessarily.
We encourage staff to suggest ways of reducing waste and implement such suggestions when we can.
This document will be reviewed annually so that we can ensure compliance with relevant legislation and monitor progress. It will also be circulated amongst all staff and discussed at team meetings.
By this policy, Aaztec Associates Limited recognises its responsibilities towards protection of the environment, and issues this statement as a commitment of both management and employees to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.
